Dennis Huston

Audio Engineer, Producer, Musician

 

Dennis Huston's goal in life is to make, record, and promote music. He records music and sounds in professional and home studios, live music venues and festivals, live theatrical performances, and on film locations. He is also a musician, composer, voice over talent and sound designer for film, TV and live shows. For the past four years he has been a professional stagehand and audio engineer for IATSE Local 2, as well as an Intern and Assistant Engineer at Rax Trax Studios, both located in Chicago.

 

Dennis’ recent studio engineering and producing experience includes work with Glittermouse, Jared Paul, The Sea Empty, Wanda Jackson, Fareed Haque, The Ex-Senators, Hemmingbirds, The Flat Cats and many other bands across a variety of musical genres. He has collaborated with international film and documentary artists in sound design, writing, and production roles.

 

Dennis is also a member of the board of directors of Theater Oobleck and recorded and mixed their critically acclaimed show, "The Hunchback Variations Opera" at Victory Gardens theater in Chicago.

 

He was Vice Chair of the Tribeca Flashpoint Audio Engineering Society (AES) chapter, a volunteering member of NARAS/GrammyU, and an active member of Engineering And Recording Society (EARS) of Chicago. He organized industry events for Tribeca students and also led a team of AES student finalists with a successful entry in the Shure Microphone Fantastic Scholastic 8 recording contest in 2012.

 

Dennis Huston is a 2012 graduate of the Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy with an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Recording Arts. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degee in Political Science from The Ohio State University and is a former software development executive with over 16 years experience with numerous Fortune 500 and startup companies helping guide their visions to market.
